So yesterday, I was so proud of myself for clearing up half of my hard drive, right? Huh. Not anymore. Well, kind of.
One of the problems I found was my iTunes music. When I had transferred all of my music to my external drive, I didn’t delete my old music files from my first drive just yet. You know, just in case; I had bought some stuff from the iTunes store and I didn’t want anything to… not work. Except I never went back and deleted my old files.
iTunes stores its library information in a little file in your music folder… and apparently, my iTunes was still writing to the old library file.
Which, yesterday, I deleted. Imagine my surprise when I went to put two new songs onto my iPod and my iTunes was COMPLETELY EMPTY. Oh no!
I guess it’s okay. Then I can get my library organized anyway. Right? Ugh!

Gahh I hate it when things like that happen. But uhm… I don’t use iTunes nor do I have an iPod so I have totally no idea how that works *hihi* I only have to drop the songs in a folder on the memory card of my Playstation Portable, never had trouble with that XD yeah yeah - I’m the more simple girl like that ~ Take care! xoxo

That sucks that you lost all your iTunes! That would really annoy me too!

I am so afraid of that happening to me.

That sounds like something I would do. I am confused - so do you still have your itunes on your external drive or is it gone for good? I can’t imagine what I would feel if I lost all of my itunes for good. ahhh!

Ouch. I can’t imagine losing all my music since I have so many albums in my iTunes folder. Did you freak out? I’d freak out so much if I lost everything. Good luck with the organizing of the library, though.

@Kelly: I’ve still got all my music, but the actual library file was gone… which means everything I had needed to be re-imported. Oh no!

I wouldn’t like to be in your place, even if here haven’t arrived those iThings
By the way, thank you for your information about RSS

I’ve never used itunes, but I’m going to buy an ipod touch, so I’ll have to start. I hope it’s easy.

I’ve never used ITunes, not yet, but I will in the future, although I have to say that the same thing happens with MP3’s. At one point my husband lost all the music he had so then had to rebuild ugh! Anyway, I hope everything works out.

I use iTunes only because I hate the Windows Media Player that cam with Vista. I like iTunes though. I don’t like that I have to import songs one by one though. An upgrade on that would be perfect.

@Jessica: Just import an entire folder (eg “My music”) into iTunes, and that should solve your problem.

You are KIDDING me. The first half of yesterday my internet was down so I decided to organize my files. After I did that (and they’re sooo neat now, btw) I decided to gather up my Itunes music and organize those songs as well. Remember me telling you that I had to make a new Windows account because of that computer virus? Well, I transferred my files and had to redo all of my Itunes music. I imported my Itunes library from my “old account” folder, however, Itunes also created a new folder on this new computer. I didn’t know it, but Itunes was importing music from both folders. It took me forever to figure out a way to get all the music in one folder and have Itunes be able to recognize it! I almost went crazy at one point because I thought I deleted everything. After that… didn’t really feel like organizing my MP3s…

Wait, if you’re still not figuring it out I think I can help you. I think I know how to fix it.
