Questions Answered

Thanks to all of you who left me questions, and phooey on those of you who didn’t. Anyhow… here they are. Also, if you still want to leave me questions on the original post, I’ll be glad to answer them for you here.

Bobbi-Lee asked: What do you plan to be/do when you “grow up” (leave school etc) and why?

In a perfect world, I would love to travel, anywhere, just to learn the language and soak up the culture of each country. Maybe I’d be working on a novel, or maybe I’d be freelancing (web design, of course), or who knows? I’d love to go to Israel. Or Italy. Or Scotland. Or Germany…

In a realistic (yuck) world, I see myself in a little house with a big yard for my cat collection… working on that novel or freelancing or teaching or whatever the Lord would have me do.

And in the near-ish future… I’d just like to get into college and be able to stay there without completely going broke.

Melinda asked: If you could be any colour crayon, what colour would you be and why?

This is actually quite funny, because as a child, I used to write names on all of my crayons and play with them as if they were dolls or something. Yes, crayons. The “Melanie” crayon was almost always “Scarlet.” I wanted to be Indigo SO BADLY, but that would disrupt the delicate balance of the crayon universe… blue, purple, green, brown, and black were all BOYS. Girls had to be red, pink, orange, yellow, white, and grey.

Lucy asked: What is your most treasured possession?

This has always been a hard one for me, just because it’s so materialistic sounding. A lot of times it depends on what’s new. For example, I could say my new guitar… just because I’m still very much “STOP BREATHING ON IT” protective over it. I could go all uber-Christian and say my Bible, just because it sounds so good. But honestly, I think I’d have to say my computer. There’s a Bible on there, you know. But there’s a lot of memories in the files, it’s how I talk to my very best friends, it’s got all of my music and pictures, as well as the information I need to go the direction I want to in life. Yes. My computer.

Rana asked: What type of music do you like?

Oh goodness. I honestly have very eclectic tastes. I used to listen to only Christian music. I was brought up that way, and honestly, that’s a good way for a kid. Within the last couple of years, I’ve been branching out, and now my policy on Christian vs. Secular music is… well, if it’s not a bad song (no excessive profanity, not all about immorality, that kind of thing), I’ll give it a go.

Stylistically? I’d have to say that my favorite style is alternative rock. I do like some punk rock, some indie, some pop, some rap (but not too much), LOVE soundtrack music, some country (but not twangy country), some techno/dance… Mostly, I’m a lyrics girl. If the lyrics make me feel something (happy, lonely, frustrated), I’m more likely to enjoy the song.

Oh, and there’s a pop-up music player on the side with some (but not all) of my current favorites.

Kaylee asked: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I’ll be completely honest. Call me superficial, but I would change my looks. If I had a different personality, it wouldn’t be me, right? A lot of people don’t take me seriously or give me the time of day just based on first impressions, and I hate that. I don’t think I’m an awful person… I just look that way.

Kaylee also asked: If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?

I’d get rid of the concept of Power. Not like electricity… like that thing that everybody craves and nobody really gets. If there was no such thing as power, God would be in charge and we’d all truly be equal. No stupid wars for stupid reasons. No corrupt leaders. No kids in second grade saying “nah nah, I’m better than you!” None of that.

Amanda asked: Whatever happened to the Erulynsky Blogathon? It started off on a bang, but then seemed to kind of fizzle out…

Here’s what happened. I went away August 3-6, and when I was gone, Shawna went crazy and LB went crazy and then broke her site. After I got back, Shawna continued to go crazy as I fixed LB’s site (vowing not to blog until I got it fixed). After I fixed her site, LB then proceeded to keep posting while I got swamped with IRL stuff.

Towards the end, I looked at Eruantale and thought ahh, forget that. No hope now. I think we should do it again… have another go at it. After Shawna gets back from vacation. OR LB and I can go crazy and not tell her about it until she gets back…

Thanks for your questions, guys!

I think that everyone secretly wants to change their looks. It’s not being superficial, it’s being human. We all have something about ourselves physically that we don’t like. I personally hate my feet. I think they’re ugly and I wish my toes weren’t long and skinny like my fingers. :( Although to be fair, I think all feet look weird. Except maybe Mother Theresa’s. She has holy feet. :)
