Tomorrow, two of our cats are taking the long ride.

No, that’s not nearly as ominous at it sounds. Well, yes and no. Tia and one of her kittens, Jackie, are going with Dad to a farm somewhere between here and Seminole. Why? Well, because Jackie has this evil penchant for… well, using a section of my room as her litterbox at least once a day. What a nice way to be greeted from work, right?

Tia’s going because… she used to be my baby (she was the kitten I rescued two years ago) but lately she’s been this nasty brat of a cat. She doesn’t even like me anymore… and I could always count on her to come snuggling up about three minutes after I climbed into bed at night.

Oh, and she’s pregnant again. I swear, Tia sits at the end of our road waiting for cats to come by, and then she totally does that cliche scene you see in old movies where the girl trying to bum a ride kind of pulls up her skirt and shows her leg. Yeah. My cat does that. The first time she had one kitten, this last time she had six, and we have reason to believe that she’ll probably have about eight this time (I won’t go into details, because it’s kind of gross).

We’ve got ten cats in the house. Eight more will put me at eighteen, with four more to go until I hit my goal of twenty two. That’s sick. I’m not quite ready to resign myself to being the crazy cat lady just yet.

Either way, Tia and Jackie are taking the long ride tomorrow. Tonight is the last I’ll see of Tia… and that’s kind of bittersweet. Oh well. She’s been a jerk for months and months. Besides… I do get to keep Mouse and Jamie.

Anyhow, the title of this post was two long rides, so I guess I should also tell you that tomorrow morning I’m taking the train to Dallas for the weekend. What fun! James has got his monumental summer event planned… so I’m sure you guys will hear all about it when I come back.

Oh, and what a busy weekend I’m going to miss out on. Lonelygirl15 is doing its “12 in 12″ season one finale tomorrow, starting a few hours after I leave, and now Shawna and LB are going to take the opportunity to pull WAY way ahead in our blogathon. Phooey!

Just a quick note for any and all of you who’ve ever posted videos on YouTube (I have). You can change the thumbnail that displays for each video on your user page and in search results, et cetera. Go to the page of the video you want to change, and click “edit video.” At the top of the next page, you’ll see the three thumbnails it takes from your video with the middle one highlighted. If the left or right one is better… choose that instead! It doesn’t give you much option, but it helps out if your middle frame was something fuzzy and indiscriminate.

Also note it took about 24 hours for my changes to show up last time… and you can only choose the thumbnail after your video is processed and live.

Some of you may know Shawna of Eruantale.net and Linda Belle of Autumn-Sky.org. If you don’t, that was a not-so-subtle hint to go check them out. They’re two of my best online friends, and we’ve all got blogs. Recently, Shawna and LB realized that Meli (of ALL people) was blogging way more than them. Sad, no? They naturally got jealous, and later competetive, and finally devious… and apparently, while I was busy having a life (you all have permission to laugh), they started this Blogathon.

The three of us have all of August to blog as much as we can, getting a point for each post and extra points for (very fuzzily judged, I’m sure) “OMFG!LONG” posts.

I’m supposed to warn you before I spam your RSS reader. This is your fair warning.
