About This Entry

Welcome to the City of Brotherly Love

Well, that’s what they told me yesterday as I got off the plane, anyhow. Yup, I’m in Pennsylvania now! My first flight, all by my lonesome, and I didn’t get scared or lost once. You all should be so proud of me… you just don’t realize it yet.

I got to Will Rodgers (the Oklahoma City airport) to find out right off the bat that my flight to Chicago was already delayed an hour and a half because of storms in Illinois. After I checked in and went to my gate, I asked the woman at the counter if I would be able to make my connecting flight into Philadelphia. She punched some stuff in, brought some stuff up, and then told me that she was just going to go ahead and reroute me through Dallas. She printed me out two more boarding passes and directed me to another gate, which was going to be boarding much, much sooner than the flight to Chicago.

Thirty minute flight to Dallas, and I didn’t really get scared (and I thought I would, too). I had an hour and a half to kill there, so I got something to eat and just generally wasted time. Anyhow, got on a bigger plane to Philadelphia and got there no problem, only about two and a half hours later than I was originally scheduled to.

My one suitcase didn’t come up over at baggage claims, but I had a feeling it wouldn’t, because I was switched at the last moment. I talked to another woman, who then told me that my flight from Chicago had been totally cancelled after all, and that they’d try and deliver my bag today.

So! I’m at Dearma’s house now, wearing yesterday’s jeans and one of her shirts, anxiously awaiting the arrival of like… all of my stuff. But all that to say… I’m here!

Glad you made it, albeit without your stuff. If it doesn’t come today, call ‘em up and bug them. Sometimes they suck at getting your bag back.

Yeah, it made it back really really late last night. I’m so happy. My suitcase has black marks on it and there’s a tear on the bottom (schmucks…) but all my stuff is here.
