Hey! New theme! That was pretty much for the benefit of the, like, three people who are subscribed through a feedreader. I’m proud of myself just for actually finishing the dang thing. It’s not hard… it’s just finding the time to sit down and do it.
Question: If you could name this theme anything at all, what would you name it? I’m planning on tweaking this for public release (different colors, too, I think), but need a better name than “melilyn_clean”… which is what it is now. Blahh, boring! So, what would you call this theme? Besides, of course, late for dinner.
I’m leaving for PA in less than two days, and I’m starting to get excited and scared all at once. Thank you Shawna and Amanda for the plane tips. I feel a bit more prepared already. Of course, I should have been doing laundry and making sure I had everything I needed instead of mucking around with this theme.
On a more serious note (how is it that other people can keep their blogs all one one subject?!), I’m worried about a friend. I won’t say who, because I respect her privacy. She’s made a lifechanging decision, and I’m really really happy for her… but she’s been having some doubts off and on for quite some time and is coming up on the time when she can’t reverse that decision easily if she needs to. I want her to be happy… I hope and pray it all comes through for her.

Sinless
or Rinse

Rinse calls for a blue color scheme.
Sinless… for one like this but without such a dark brown/grey.
Awesome! *runs off to look at color schemes*

*pokes bottom bar* AHH! I AM TRAPPED IN A FRAME! HELP! HELP! GET ME OUT!
Oh wait, nvm. Yay, it’s a div! BUT IT GIVES ME AWFUL MEMORIES! *poke poke poke*
I shall call it… um… um… hey, what the heck is J J A S O N D?
Sorry, sorry. I am suppressing the urge to nitpick on little things that are entirely subject to personal taste. I really like it. But I am sitting here hovering over links thinking eventually the hover will be ridiculously bright and I’ll go “SQUEE!”
As I was saying, I shall call it: encrypted. I SEE YOU TRYING TO HIDE YOUR LOVE FOR JASON ! BUT YOUR SECRET CODE IS LACKING!
Yeah, I have no idea what to call it. I’m just bored.

LOL Shawna. Actually, you saying it’s all subject to personal taste is a step up for me. Usually you’re nitpicking things that, alas, I actually do have to change.
I like the faux frame look. It doesn’t work right in Explorer, so I had to restyle it just a touch. I’m glad you like it

I’m just really OCD about tiny details that most people don’t care about. If you want me to go all out extremist nitpick on you, I can. There are only a few things I would personally adjust (not *change*) but they are very minor things, like link hovers, margins and padding. I like the design as a whole, except I am still feeling frame paranoia. *pokes bottom bar*

I actually had the frame impression at first as well, but then I realized it was just a design effect, which was cool. I would probably give the theme a name that has something to do with lines, or squares, or maybe even “sandwich”, because of the way the header and footer wraps around the rest, but maybe that’s just me being hungry.

Hey, I really love this design and layout! The color scheme is pretty sweet as well. I can’t really think of anything to name it. I was trying to figure out how to include the fact that you’ve framed the page in the name so all I really came up with was “Subtle Control” for the boxed-in feeling and subtle color contrasts. Sorry I’m not much help.
Also, don’t forget to change the links in the footer for XHTML and CSS validation. They are still just pound signs. Maybe consider adding a title tag or a JavaScript tool tip to the pound signs after the comments. I would put a quick description to what the link is for those out there who are unfamiliar with blogs or the web in general. Otherwise, amazing job. Keep up the good work!

@Ragnhild: Sandwich! Haha, I love it. It’s like… green eggs and blue cheese though. Eww.
@Andrew: You actually touched on a bunch of the little nitpicky things I still have to touch up before my theme is even done… and that’s before I adapt it for public release. Thanks for the reminder, of course!
