Daily Drabbles

Nothing too exciting to report, per se. I did get promoted from trainee to normal person today at work, completely out of the blue. Doesn’t really mean much except a prettier nametag. I also ended up working at another Braum’s for two hours today, because they needed help during lunch.

I’ve been writing up a storm lately too… I really need to get more of what I’ve written up online for people to read. I don’t think I’ll ever submit Seasons Past to anything important, by the way. Bits and pieces have become too dear to my heart (please excuse the corniness) to just throw out there for the whole world.  But it’s so much fun to work on, and maybe someday I’ll create something worth publishing. That would literally be a dream come true.

That’s all I really had to say. I promise to a) update more often and b) find things that are more interesting to say. Someday. *rolls eyes*

Wow, I do get out!

I really have to post more often. Goodness. Mostly, life has been work… I worked pretty solidly all last week, Sunday to Thursday. When I was hired I was told twenty hours a week… but just this past week I was scheduled for about thirty-four hours and ended up working almost thirty-nine. And this is a part-time job! I don’t know where I’m going to find time for college.

That’s my other concern. There is a possibility of getting the funding I need for this year, thanks to some really nice and helpful people in admissions and financial aid, but what I’m worried about is fitting it in, time-wise. I mean, I’m almost working a full-time job. They’re really short-staffed at work right now, so I really don’t want to have to cut down my hours drastically… I mean, I’ve only been working there for two weeks and I really do want to keep this job. So what do I do? College or my job? Can I do both without burning out in a month or two? (more…)

Tired, but not dead yet.

That was a ridiculous time with no updates. Sorry, guys! But see, I’ve been working at Braums for a week now, and by the time I get online, I’m too exhausted to even check my email! But today was the first truly good day I’ve had so far, and so here I am, actually updating.

Jessyca poking me helped.

Anyhow, it’s not going too bad! The Braums I work at is really small… the other ones in town are literally twice the size! My niche is mainly working the grocery counter, and then stocking things. I got comfortable with that, had my nice little comfort zone, and then today I ended up doing almost everything BUT that. I washed dishes, took out trash, learned how to work the food register (where they order burgers and such), learned how to make milkshakes and malts and such (FINALLY!), made my first banana split (I’ve never even EATEN one in my LIFE), and ended up helping to train a girl who today was her first day. It was like the blind leading the blind… “Do as I say, not as I do!” *messes up ice cream sundae*… (more…)
