One of our other cats, Zoe, recently found herself pregnant. If you’ve ever been to my house, you know Zoe as the skinny cat… the pretty calico tiger striped cat… the one with James’ boot sticking out of it’s head… Amazon Kitty.
We didn’t even think she was that far along, until we saw her sitting on the chair in the living room next to Tia (the recent mommy) looking rather uncomfortable. I went over to her and, lo and behold, she was already starting to deliver.
So I very carefully ran her back to the box we’d prepared in Mom and Dad’s room… okay, so it was Tia’s box, but it was nice and clean and ready for Zoe. Unfortunately, they were stillborn. All three of them.
The first one was beautiful, too. It was a mostly white and orange calico… and I have a horrible weakness for calicos. It was obviously underdeveloped but still adorable. And so very fluffy! Unfortunately, it was the best of the three. The second one honestly looked like a little hairless mouse, and the third was black and white and… in bad shape.
Zoe’s fine. It absolutely breaks your heart when you see her chasing Jack around the house, trying to get him to look at her as his mother. He was born the weekend after camp… he’s a little old for this already!
This was a complete pet-post… sorry! But at least it’s not cryptic. Sorry about that.
Oh I remember when our cats had kittens, it has been a long time. They are so cute. Anyway…hope things are good.
