Near Misses
Sunday, June 4th, 2006Happy Shavuot!! According to our calendar, we celebrated Shavuot today. Since we’ve “officially” left our congregation, we didn’t really want to go to Thunderbird with them. During the summer we go up to Bell Cow Lake in Chandler to go swimming and have a nice afternoon. When we were trying to figure out where to go for Shavuot, one of my parents commented, “it’s a shame B’nai Shalom has claim to Chandler.”
We realized then that they really only have a pavilion. There’s plenty of other people there as well. And besides, since we’re not attending Beit Yeshua anymore, that doesn’t make us the B’nai Shalom pariahs anymore, doesn’t it? So we went up to Bell Cow today for Shavuot.
Because of timing, positioning, and a cloud of nasty bugs, we ended up not even encountering any of the B’nai people (which is a shame because I missed Becky and Lisa… hence the title of this post). We did, however, casually walk up to the other bathrooms just to see if we could cause any cases of wiplash, and ended up waving to Beth.
All in all, not a bad day (minus the sore throat I’ve had the past couple days due to dehydration), but still, near misses stink.
