About This Entry

Now I’m Ready.

Today we ran up to Walmart to get those last couple things we needed for camp, and then I stopped next door at Payless to get sneakers (the last pair of sneakers I finally threw out last year after three years of Camp Yeshua and a year of blisters). So now I could say that I really am ready. It’s four days until camp by James’ count (it’s a week away by the calendar, six days because the sun has gone down, and down to four days because James comes here two days before camp). I’m certainly ready!

It’s all I can do to keep my suitcase under the bed!

Dearma got here on Thursday, so she’s been here for a little while now. It’s fun having someone else in the house (not because Abby’s stuck in my room and I’m stuck going online in the kitchen) beecause your whole routine changes. It’s easy to see all of the stupid things your family does when it’s in its comfort zone and change those things. I guess that doesn’t really make sense, does it?

Of course, things that are minor when it’s just the six of us seem absurd when you throw another person in the mix. Like, some small family squabble that will blow over within the hour seem traumatizing to guests… even if they’re family or best friends?

I should check in here before camp, so don’t worry. And of course when I get back I’ll have a novel to deliver!!
